Niederlausitzer Bergbautour (Niederlausitzer Runde) Self-Guided: Stages, Accommodations & Map 2026

The Niederlausitzer Runde is a circular route through Brandenburg starting and finishing in Lübbenau/Spree. It links the Spreewald with the Lausitzer Seenland, including Senftenberg and Boxberg on Bärwalder See.

The Niederlausitzer Bergbautour (Niederlausitzer Runde) is a 403.5 km circular route starting and finishing in Lübbenau/Spree. It’s split into eight official stages via Altdöbern, Senftenberg, Lauchhammer, Finsterwalde, Beeskow, Müllrose and Lübben before looping back to Lübbenau. What defines the ride is the constant switch between Spreewald sections and the former mining region with big lakes, plus landmarks like the Kraftwerk Boxberg power station. According to the official description, you’ll be riding mostly on asphalt, and the terrain is flat — which makes day planning pretty straightforward. The loop works for beginners and relaxed tourers who’d rather cover long distances in stages, and it’s e-bike friendly too if you want to keep the 62 km day feeling easy. For families, it’s best if you split the official stages into smaller chunks. Planning your own trip? Use the stage towns as reliable anchors for sleeping and resupply, then build in your own breaks by the lakes and along the Spreewald canals.

The Most Beautiful Section on the Niederlausitzer Bergbautour (Niederlausitzer Runde)

For me, the strongest bit is the Spreewald block: Stage 1 from Lübbenau/Spree to Altdöbern (52 km), plus the return sections on Stage 7 (Müllrose → Lübben, 62 km) and Stage 8 (Lübben → Lübbenau/Spree, 56 km). Conclusion

The Spreewald sections are the standout, and the clear stage format gives you fixed towns that make planning easy. Big plus points are the flat profile and mostly asphalt surfaces; the counterpoint is the more industrial-feeling stretches like the one by Kraftwerk Boxberg. If you tweak the longer stages to fit your rhythm, this loop is very easy to organise on your own.
